Hi,
I finally figured out how to work this thing. A little late I know. My name is Dani Wilkerson. I am a freshmen. I found what we talked about on Monday very interesting. The one question I had was how do they teach deaf students to speak. I am in ASL right now and he is deaf but he still can talk to us and he is very clear. If anyone knows the answer to this that would be awesome.

hey,
ReplyDeleteI wasnt able to get into ASL this semester, but I had heard about the teachers being deaf.. as i see that yours is, does he sound completely clear? and how do you answer back to him if your just beginning to learn sign langauge. Im sure it would be really hard to learn if you are deaf to talk (I mean that may be wrong but it seems like that!) I was just wondering how you respond back if you dont know how to yet in sign language
Well a lot of the time we write stuff down. Or another way is to finger spell things to him. Sometimes he will have us act out what we are trying to say. He understands that we dont know much so he takes his time trying to understand what we are saying. He does sound completely clear. The only thing is his volume sometimes he will be really quite and then other times he is really loud. I love ASL I am sure when you get into it you will love it as well.
