Speech vs Language

Speech mostly refer to oral communication or sound being produced oral it can make sense to the listener or not, language has long been closely associated with reason, sequence and sytematical arranging of words.

  2. YES!!!! I believe that babies do produce speech. The babbling that they do is a type of speech. They also use body language from the startle reflex and facial features.

  3. It seems that the three words Speech, language, and communication are always interchanged. Its good to know the definite and distinct meaning of each. I'm looking forward to all we're going to learn this semester

  4. I too also believe that babies produce speech. They know what they are trying to say to you and we as adults have advanced speech because of being older. Adults do know what their baby wants though, as said before when a baby cries we know it wants its bottle. When a makes facial expressions when can figure out what they mean. Nonverbal language such as gestures are sometimes just as strong as verbal language. If your talking to someone and total are annoyed, the other person and tell by your facial expression, it says it all.
