  6. My name is Stephanie Nowicke (no-WICK-ee). I'm majoring in interpreting with minors in Psychology and Special Ed. Honestly, I really hope this class doesn't keep me out too late! It's a long walk back to Telford in the cold. I also hope this contributes to my major in many ways as well.

  7. Hi Stephanie, The class is from 6:00-8:45. Each class will "vote" if they would like to go straight through without a break and get out at 8:30 or if they'd like to take a break we'll finish at 8:45. I'm one of those instructors who rarely if ever lets class out early.

  17. Jordan, you can sleep through my class and I'll sleep through your basketball game. I'd think my teaching is as exciting as any of your basketball playing! By the way, Sekoe had 32 points tonight.

  18. Well you have never seen me play, so you dont know if its interesting or not... But i wont sleep in your class you're interesting and keep me thinking the whole time. I think we should take a field trip and watch Sekoe play one night!

  19. Agreed! Basketball is probably more interesting than class.

Agree again! Let's go to Gallaudet and everyone can do their observation there. Everyone finishes ONE assignment, we complete the chapter on Deafness AND we get to see Sekoe play basketball. Excellent idea. You're SMART and a basketball player!! I've found ANOTHER ONE! <(grin) Next - figure out how we PAY FOR IT SO EVERYONE CAN GO!

Sekoe's featured on the Capital Athletic Conference website this week - check him out!

For not being a "blogger" you've figured it out well!

  20. First off where is Gallaudet?

  21. Gallaudet is a University for students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. It is in Washington, D.C. Thus, the Capital Athletic Conference, http://cacsports.com/sports/mbkb/2008-09/news/INTRODUCINGSekoeWhite So . . . actually I was speaking rather tongue in cheek. Not sure how you could work that out - - - but hey - I always tell my kids to DREAM BIG and have a back up plan.

  22. Wow that is amazing about Sekoe! How tall is he?

    ReplyDelete
  23. oh thats cool, im 6'4...do you have any other star athletes in the family?

    ReplyDelete
  24. You mean other than me? Ok, I'm not an athlete. No, but I do have a step-son who is a GREAT dancer. He's older than me. Fun, eh?

I have another step-son who's a phenomenal artist. I have other step-kids who are just plain phenomenal. My great grandson though is the cutest of all. He's 2 and is coming to spend a few days with us while his momma goes to the innauguration. (Did I say I like my family?)

Sekoe's actually won the gold medal in the Olympics, the Deaflympics in Melbourne Australia. I am one of those obnoxiously proud step-moms. He compted in the Deaf World Games in 2007 in Guanzhou, China and will be competing in Taipei in the Deaflympics in September. There's a group on Facebook. You can check it out.

  25. Mrs. White it sounds like you have a very talented family. I can only hope my daughter will do something with her talent in art and design. She is scared to get her ideas out there, but she does wonderful work. She has recently became interested in photography. She takes loads of pictures, but they are of herself. LOL She can take some really amazing pictures though.

  26. How we use talents is key. Some people just use their talents for their own satisfaction and enjoyment. It depends on each individual what they determine to do with or how they use their talents.
