Wed nights class.

I was a little worried about the language project and the article response, but after class last night I feel more comfortable with my ability to complete both. Mrs. White really helped me understand the criteria we need to cover in the language project. The way we outlined what to do and what not to do really gave me emphasis on where to get started with the project. Going over the Transitive, Intrasitve and the Equative clauses really helped me understand how to calculate the utterances. I really enjoyed the material covered in class last night.

  1. I agree, I am actually looking forward to doing the language project! I think it will be entertaining and a great learning experience! Wed. nights class really helped me understand what was going on what exactly we had to do and what not to do!

  2. It helped me too and I am also looking forward to doing the project I am just a little concerned about the amount of time I will need to spend with the child. It seems like it would take quite a while to get 100 utterances from a child. It may take less time then I am thinking who knows..

  3. I am looking forward to it as well.I was worried about it until class. Now the only thing I'm worried about now is coming up with the right activity. Right now I thing I'm going to bring some kind of game that the child and her older brothers can play when I babysit and just video tape us playing the game. I think that would be a good natural setting.

  4. i'm really looking forward to the assignment also. i haven't been around many small children so it's really going to be fun listening and evaluating what they are saying or what they are trying to say.

  5. I know I can finally breath a little sigh of relief! Along with everyone else, I am excited to do the language sample. More so, getting to watch little kids talk since they always say the cutest and funniest things! But it'll be interesting to go through and experience how to do a language assessment.

  6. I think it will be a good experience. I have never done anything like this before, so I think it will help me have a clear picture of language development I never had before!

  7. Wow.. I really wish I didn't miss class on wed. IT's amazing how much a teachers explanation can make some things that seem complicated so simple. That should really be every teachers goal I guess.

  8. I have planned to record my language project over spring break. I'm doing this assignment with this little 2 year old boy I babysit when we're not in school. I am so excited, plus his mom said he is making improvment!~ =]
