Just a little Story
Hey guys!!! I hope your alls week was great! I justed wanted to share a little story with you and i needed 1 more post for this month. Well i babysit a 2 year old little boy on wednesday and he is absolutely adorable! He doesnt say many words and the words he does say are radom like Flowers.... that word does not tell me what he wants! haha! Well anyways he has started to go to a school for a few hours a week and they have taught him sign language. I was so impressed he showed me he wanted more, thank you, i love you and much more. I was so happy to see him communicating with me in some way!!!! Its amazing what kids decide to do. I thought it was so cute :-)

WOW that is amazing!!! Good for him :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that is great that they are doing that! I hope that he continues to get this level of communication education for as long as possible.
ReplyDeleteI used to work at a day care center, and started teaching basic signs to the group of two year olds in my classroom. My co-teacher and I thought that we could use the signs to get an understanding from the children who could not speak clearly. This worked wonderfully!!!!
ReplyDeleteI plan to continue using signs in all of my teaching situations: from substituting to my own classroom.
aww! That was a cute story.
ReplyDeleteI think it is so neat when little kids learn sign language and it is a great way to get them to start communicating more!
ReplyDeleteThat is great! It's wonderful that people teach their children sign language. It is something I wish I can remember to do :D and keep doing as the child grows.
ReplyDeleteI used to work in a day care where the 2 year old's communicate with minimal sign lanugage. It's so cute. But it's also veryyyy helpful.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing that the children are given an outlet to communicate but I was wondering if the use of sign language during the language development age can stunt speaking progress simply because the children are relying on their sign language rather than practicing their speaking skills
ReplyDeleteMy cusin is 3, and she loves to sign more then speaking. Both of her grandparents are Deaf. She is a beautiful signer.
