We actually know that child doesn't have the LANGUAGE abilities to produce that. He at times doesn't even have the articulation or the speech entirely correct. The COGNITIVE level isn't there yet either...so...hmmmm . . . what's going on???
I mean I would say that the child is imitating what his parents are stating. But thats a lot for his parents to just drill in his head of what to remember. But I did recognize what you said where he doesnt even have the ability to produce the words correctly. I know in skinner's behavioral model Skinner talks a lot about the model being used in young children whom are first learning to speak, but that is not teaching the child how to speak.. it is repetion.. a lot of repition for a little kid. I know of children whom can repeat parts of songs, and phrases (some that are long) that their parents use but remembering the gettysberg address, well thats one long thing to remember!
That was crazy. I can not beleive how he had all of the memorized. If he is imitating his parents, it would of taken his parents a long time to teach him that.
I agree with Samantha that he must just be imitating his parents. You know that there is no way he could be reading note cards since the poor child probably can't even read yet. My question would be what would be the purpose of having your child do something like this? Its not like he can understand what he is saying or make any sense out of it. I wonder how they could have taught him this. I can't immagine a child at that age having the attention span to sit and repeat his parents over and over. It's just crazy.
Here are photographs . . . there are more on Facebook.
I'm still learning names so if you want to do something fun or silly . . . - leave a comment under the photo with a creative caption and include the names that you know - this will help me BIG TIME!!
Ok...I am crying. I know . . .
