Office Hours?!?

Oh Yeah? Oh Yeah!! Ok, folks...since I am a part time instructor I do not have an office on campus which means I do not have real office hours. But, one of the coolest things I've now discovered is that I have unofficial office hours . . . ON FACEBOOK! It's just the coolest thing in the world to feed my addicition.

I've had a test question "talk through" session this week, discussed a class absence, reviewed a class event and reflected on the class experience - - - all on FACEBOOK! I think the Wednesday class might be the Facebook Crowd, though!! Of course they think I like Monday night better - which is NOT true!! I sincerely - you know I'm SAPPY (not other adjectives some may suggest) adore both sections - even when I'm INTENSE with you ;)!

I am also offering to everyone the "stop by the office" one-on-one, face-to-face sit down chat that some of you also have already requested and had. We've done this over Starbucks or the table in the classroom after class. Please let me know if you want to sit down face to face to go over your project or any aspect of the course as we've just passed the mid-point. You can comment here or email me privately.

PS . . . you all made me soooooooo proud this week. I can't wait to hear you in class tell me your impressions of the WONDERFUL commentaries that were added to the large group discussion. This was so rich and true to your future lives. We were blessed for this EXTRA part of the experience.

  4. I wanted to apologize publicly to you if I hurt your feelings. I just was referring to what you call yourself sometimes in class. I did not mean to offend in any way!!!
I can be classified by that adjective!!!LOL!!!! At least that is what my ex-husband called me!!!LOL!!!

  5. Thank you for the public apology. You did not hurt my feelings. I will be honest and say I was taken back. Just as you may not find humor or appropriateness in some language I am much like you and don't find humor or the appropriateness of other language in other settings.

I can't remember what I ate for breakfast many days. But, I don't ever recall having used that word to refer to myself - I can't recall using that type of language in class.

I do know I have said I can be "witchy" at times. I think that is quite different. I have said I may be the "nicest strictest" teacher - something to that effect. Perhaps I have said something relative to that and what others may think.

It may be something like, "I can talk about my mother, but you can not." It's also a matter of pragmatics, perhaps. What is appropriate, when and where, frankly. Since you chose to put your apology here on the blog publicly...I will respond here as well.

The apology is accepted and the incident is over. Gone - as far as the east is from the west.

  6. I love our late night chats about random items of the day. Thank you for letting me talk to you about the past. It really did help!
