Feeling Generous - More Bonus Points

A wonderful colleague, Donna Eustace, recently shared a URL with me.

I'd like to share it with you because it has a DIRECT connection to our course. The URL is:

http://udltechtoolkit.wikispaces.com/

If you would like to earn some additional bonus points for SED260 take some time to explore the many wonderful resources and tools you'll find here.

How do you earn the bonus points, you ask? That's left up to YOUR creativity - since this is EXTRA. You have to explore the website and then determine HOW it relates to the course, your area of interest, etc. You can even determine a meaningful way to share that with me without creating "busy work" for yourself. I'm open to your ideas.

The extra credit will be added to an assignment or test of your choice that you feel like you didn't do as well as you would have liked.

You want bonus points? I'm willing to work with you . . .

  1. This was so much fun. I use to complete the 'madlibs' books when I was younger. Here is what I came up with:
    All a Dream
I fell asleep yesterday listening to an old album that my mom had. I really enjoyed it, though I had a weird dream. It was kind of like one of the old songs.

I've been workin' in Eastern Kentucky University,
    All the silly day.
I've been workin' in Eastern Kentucky University,
Just to pass the time away.
Don't you hear the whistle swinging?
Rise up so early in the morn.
    Don't you hear Madonna shouting
    “Johnny, walk your horn? ”

    Johnny, won't you walk,
    Johnny, won't you walk,
Johnny, won't you walk your horn?
    Johnny, won't you walk,
    Johnny, won't you walk,
Johnny, won't you walk your horn?

Someone's in the Bathroom with Johnny.
Someone's in the Bathroom, I know.
Someone's in the Bathroom with Johnny
    Strumming on the old piano.

It was the weirdest dream I've had in a long time!

  2. I like this idea because children can use this activity to learn the different parts of a sentence in a fun way! Who said that learning verbs, nouns, adjectives, etc. cannot be fun?!

  3. After looking at the site, my favorite thing was the stories on starfall. The reason I liked these stories is because it gave you a letter and used the letter in many words. It took the letter and made language by creating new words by using the letter, for an example peg the hen, the main letter is the letter E. It then goes on to read that " pEg gEts wEt" it shows that the letter E can create language. This would be a very helpful for a parent to show their kids when they are learning letters.
