Obama leagalizing weed ???
If you have been watching the news, you will see President Obama, is allowing states to individually harvest marijuana ? I personally do not smoke, but feel this would be a great source of revenue for our state.(Kentucky's # 1 cash crop is already marijuana, why not leagalize it and profit from it.) With the taxes earned from the sell of this product the state could fund more schools, pave more roads and offer more financial aide to those who need it ? I would just like to know what your opinions are on the issue, and how you think it should be dealt with ?

The reason why it is so popular is because it is illegal. As soon as it is made legal, and more and more people smoke it regularly it value will be greatly decreased. Then research will find that it causes cancer. Then the food and drug administration will begin to say that it needs to be banned. Then the gov't will put a huge tax on it and try to drive people away from the product. Finally it will be no different than tobacco and we'll be in the same place. I don't agree with the use of the product, but I also don't think it would benefit our country in any way. It will cause more depression, laziness and accidents.
ReplyDeleteEric, I have to agree with you. I think the reason it is so popular is because its banned. I think KY could benefit from the sale of it, but know that it will also end up like tobacco and become a dead end for us.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's called forbidden fruit. People want it so bad because they can't have it. I think it's ridiculous all in itself.
ReplyDeleteI do not think it should be legal, because just like alcohol there is a legal age for drinking yet people still chose to drink anyways and it creates many problems. People are going to do what they want no matter what. Legalizing marijuana will probably end up causing more problems then it will solve.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that if it becomes legalized, then people will just keep smoking it like they are cigarettes and need to be different will be gone.
ReplyDeleteI do not think that weed should be legalized. I think that there is already enough of it circling around and legalizing it will just cause more problems. I think that if it were legalized, yes it would be beneficial for the economy, but then again, I think more people will start doing it and also at a younger age. The drinking age is 21 so people drink younger than 21. Weed is not legalized so people do it, just think of the number of people and ages of people that would do it if ti were legal. I do not agree with this issue, but then again I do have basis and possible have a biased opinion.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree that it should be legalized. It would help lower the debt. But, if it were legal, it definitly should be highly monitored, even more so than alcohol.
ReplyDeleteI agree that many people do it just because it is illegal. Legalizing it may cause more problem though
