Test 2 results
I just saw my test results from Test 2. I done much better on this one! YAY! I love the way Mrs. White gives us feedback on every single question. No matter if they are right or wrong. I have never had a teacher do this before and it defiantly helps. So hopefully I will do even better on Test 3. Good luck to everyone!

Yea i did a lot better this time also! hope i do well on test three
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't do as well as I did on the first one . . . but in all honesty, I didn't put as much time into this last one, so I deserved what I got. I love that Mrs. White gives us so much feedback. Some of my other teachers just hand back things and say that it is wrong. This doesn't help me at all. My question is how can I fix my mistakes, do better on the next test, or more importantly understand the material if I don't know why my answer is wrong? I really like that about Mrs. White. Her feedback is great!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI completly agree. I had not had a teacher do this before either. It makes me realize how nice it is to get feedback on what you didnt answer corectly, then you know how to fix it for next time!! SHE SHOULD STAY TEACHING NEXT YEAR!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with you all. I did better and her feedback is definitely helpful, but it would take forever as she has said before.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate everyone's comments!!! I want to share . . .
ReplyDeleteDescriptive feedback is KEY to students' understanding of material. Finding ways to do this in classrooms is ESSENTIAL. It is very DIFFERENT to do in a class that meets ONCE a week. Yet, I believe it is so important and essential to model for you that it is WORTH EVERY SECOND of the time I put into it.
What would make it a WASTE of MY TIME is if you do NOT learn from the feedback AND if you do not see the value of it and learn the importance of it. It actually is my hope that as my future colleagues you will include this as one of your instructional practices.
Let's say teacher X has Johnny and he learns and understand 50% of the material presented at a basic knowledge and comprehension level. He goes to teacher Y who teaches him the same material in a resource room. He learns 100% of the material presented. He not only understands it but is able to apply it to various situations. Additionally, he is able to analyze the information and solve problems using various components of the information.
Is Johnny stupid because he couldn't learn from Teacher X? Maybe Teacher X thought it took too much time to use strategies that effectively taught Johnny in ways that helped him to understand????
Doing better on tests . . . What do students need to do to help them effectively learn and understand material? How about learn material over time . . .What could COLLEGE students do on a weekly basis to prepare for class to more effectly develop an understanding of content? Anyone ever read a college text or view online resources on Blackboard before class or BEFORE AN ONLINE TEST?
Ok, I'll climb down off my soap box now.
I did good on this test as well but I was disappointed in the fact that I missed one question and it dropped my grade dramatically. I do appreciate the feedback it is so appreciated and I know how much time that must take you to do that for every student. I cannot tell you how much it helps. THANKS!
ReplyDeleteTest 2 was my best score to! I'm not completely sure why.. maybe I spent a little more time on it and I didn't do it 11 o'clock at night :> .. I probably shouldn't joke about that~~~ The comments were really cool, I wish that I was able to attend class more and be more involved, I think everything would have gone together a lot more than what I think
